Deployment & Architecture

The IPoDWDM direct-connect architecture plugs coherent modules directly into QSFP-DD ports on core switches or routers. DWDM wavelengths are carried through MUX/DEMUX devices and, where needed, EDFA amplifiers into the fiber line.

Goilips 400G ZR/ZR+ Simplified Coherent Interconnect for DCI

Point-to-Point Short-Reach DCI (up to 80km)

Core Deployment:Use Goilips 400G QSFP-DD ZR with DP-16QAM modulation over switch -> MUX/DEMUX -> dark fiber -> MUX/DEMUX -> switch.

Advantage:Supports direct point-to-point DCI without optical amplifiers, reducing system complexity and deployment time.

Long-Reach / Multi-Wavelength Multiplexing (80km - 120km+)

Core Deployment:Use Goilips 400G QSFP-DD ZR+ with DP-16QAM or DP-8QAM, plus MUX/DEMUX and EDFA amplification where required.

Advantage:Extends backbone reach while integrating with existing DWDM physical networks and ROADM systems.

Flexible Rate Compatibility

Core Deployment:Use Goilips 400G QSFP-DD ZR+ with tunable 100G/200G/300G/400G rates depending on fiber quality and reach.

Advantage:On poor-quality or extra-long fiber paths, lower rates can be selected to gain additional transmission distance.
